Default E85 Fuel

Hi just wondering if anyone has been tuning E85 fuel, has it been worth while, big HP improvements, and is it simple to tune?

I have been using E85 for the last 6 months and would hate to go back to pump gas. My motor runs cooler and I can run more boost without waving to worry about detontation.

You tune it the same way as you would gas. It will probably want a different timing curve though. On my setup it wanted less timing while running E85. I could add more timing without detonating but my motor did not make anymore power.

e85 is equivalent to tuning 110 octane about. It clean out your engine, alcohol will burn away carbs. the only downside is that it burn way to fast.

last time i run E85 my engine whas nothing like with pumpgas it felt stronger and it whas smother easier to map though , and when it comes to boost it pulled like a dream and betterthan whith pumpgas 98/99 okt. but one issue after all whas when i pulled out my injectors it whas not a pretty sight if you looked down the intake streem in the heads and the valveshaft it whas really clogged and alot of something like black rubber feeling compound , and even on the injectors not inside them but outside where you have the 6 whole rotating disc delhpi 744 , the whole fuelsystem whas new from tank to injectors . so i dont think im to sure about E85 any moore until i know what caused that.

it's cleaning the carb out. Plus from what u are saying, i hardly doubt it was from e85 and I'm willing to bet on it.

Yes E85 is a SUPER detergent. It will clean EVERYTHING!!!. You should check/change your fuel filter a few times at first if you have an older setup. It could also be that your lines/carb/pump is not compatible with the E85.

I have checked my filters a few times since I switched over but everything still looks great. I even took apart my fuel rails last most to check on the bare aluminum. E85 can play havoc on certain lines/metals.

ookay is that so , thing is i whant to get back to E85 again but im little scarrie about the last i told you about, so lets say i use stainless steel fuelfilter from ex fuelab running bosch 044 fp copper fuellines and i allso use hard anodized fuelrails as well this must be rather safe dont you think.
