    yeah am also waiting on some specs. I asked through my dealer but also no response yet. The Knockboard is available but no one is posting specs etc?????

        I rang my nz dealer for a price and asked what he thought of it, he had only used one on a mitsi but said it work very well. The price for these isn't too bad either.

          that is some good news, but why does no one want to post some specs???? I really like to know more about this knockcontrol, what strategy it uses etc..... bump for more info.

            It is not ready yet, (the information). We are testing the first next week here. I talked to Richard a few days ago and very soon we will get the information.

              I'm going to follow this thread with interest. I have been very keen to buy a J&S Safeguard but have not been able to buy one. I was put on to someone in Hong Kong but communication from there just fizzled out so I am hoping this Knockboard will lead somewhere positive.

                This is my first post here.

                I have had an SM4 with the knockboard installed on my Subaru STI, my tuner swears by the knockboard as you can go right up to the limit of the tune, if there is any knock the SM4 will pull out some timing before any damage is done.

                The cost for the knockboard was AUD$600.00.

                I do have the dyno graphs of the car if anyone is interested I will post them up.

                  Are you using group retard or individual? With individual you got power gain but need to check that the offset is right so it retards the correct cylinder. You can do the test by, set a ign mod on all cylinders to -5 degrees so you are sure no one will knock, then set one cylinder about 10 degrees more advance and check at little boost around 3800 rpm on the Subaru. Log all knock settings and see the same cylinder you advanced retarded by the knockboard.

                  With the setting /record the Autronic will log important parameters in case of engine knock, the record is done in ecu memory.

                  The knock board is far the most advanced I have seen and knows if the wiring to the knock sensor fails or if the sensor come loose from engine block. It will use safe limits then.

                    I just finished tuning and setup of grA STI. I can say there are plenty of room from MBT to "limit" even on our pump gasoline here. This is on oem CR engine. In my point of view using of knock-board will not maximize performance of Your engine - good tuning will do, just adds safety thats very important also. This is mainly a case on pump gas (=different quality) fuel using engines.

                              I have been informed that Richard will be releasing the Knockboard for SM4's..
                              Springy Motors will be testing one with a 4g63 from a Galant VR4 (actually 4g64).
                              Mitsubishi Galant VR4. SM4 1.09. T51R SPL E85. Motec SDL. 425kw at 4. 10.93@135mph.
