  • Evo SAS activation

    This should be an easy one,
    Is there a way to tell if the V1.99 in my Evo 6 is using the factory SAS gear, ie solenoid, air canister, air valve piping to manifold.
    From my understanding in the manual its Inj8 output.
    current settings are as follows

    mode 5 = 226.
    mode 6 =132
    mode 7 = 90
    IAC opening = 100%
    IAC cool down = 100%
    Cool Dn Min = 1200 RPM
    Cool Dn Max = 1600 RPM
    Cool Dn Thr Min = 5%
    Trig = 4500
    max coolant temp 98
    extra fuel 14.8%

    Just trying to figure out if i ditch all that weight if its not doing anything constructive

      Sorry i totally forgot i put this up. The answer is yes the Autronic is activating the ALS system. I Tee'd up my logging system for boost into the line just before the ALS actuator, and once antilag is activated, off throttle the solenoid opens the vacuum tank and subsequently opens the valve to bypass the air. Once you get on the throttle, the solenoid closes and looks like will only open again after you hit the antilag rpm activation point again, but i need to do some more testing..
      Now that i know its working i am now thinking about changing the spring tension on the blow off valve to get more air to divert through the ALS system, rather than waste that air..

        Or delete the blow off valve, which will make your race car lighter and faster.

          Also whilst your ALS cool down rpm settings (rotational idle) will make the engine sound like a top fueler when activated, I have had issues with exhaust manifolds coming loose with those settings.

            Yep there is a reason why the dump bolts are Lockwired.... and I recheck all the top turbo bolts after each rally....

              You may want to give some consideration to competent durability with regards to the rapid cooling action.
