  • Cylinder input lead calculation help. Suzuki GSX

Greetings from Australia. I have been tasked with getting an unfinished project of a turbo Suzuki up and running with an SM4. Luckily, it ran previously with an SMC, so I have something to go on.
I have several things that are puzzling me, but #1 thing is......... Is the cylinder input lead number supposed to be an actual factual number , as the basic help seems to imply, or is it just a nominal number which we can trim to suit to get the timing right? My calculated number comes out at 270 degrees, but the number verified with the timing light is actually 315. I have sync capture, picture of the trigger etc, but cannot upload them for some reason. Inline 4 cylinder with 2 coils, waste spark , 2 pulses per rev, 4 per cycle. I'm hesitant to move too far forward with trying to set up custom input linearisations and such until I'm confident in the basic setting.

    Thanks, and happy new year,

    Cyl I/P lead

    Cylinder Input lead angle.
The number of degrees BTDC the cylinder pulse trigger edge occurs.

Yes, I follow what it is... I don't follow why it looks like 270, calcs as 270, but needs 315 to be correct by timing light.
