    Hi guys,
    It's been a long time since I was on the forum. I hope everyone is well.

    I have a customer with an Evo 8 260 (4 plug) who has recently purchased an SMC pnp board. Unfortunately I am having some issues getting the engine to start. When cranking I don't get any rpm signal at all and also no sign of cyl pulses or sync. I have tried a few different cal files from the forums for various EVOs but none give an rpm signal.
    The car runs perfectly fine when I connect the factory ecu.

    I am aware that there are some minor pin out differences in the EVO 8 vs the EVO 5/6/7? Although I haven't been able to find any solid information. I do know that the fan control is inverted as the fans are always on.
    I have temporarily adjusted the fan temp settings to get the fans off.

    Can anyone send me in the right direction with regards the trigger/rpm problem?
    Also, how do I invert the fan output on the SMC?

    The car is running factory crank/cam sensor setup with ID1050 injectors, uprated cams, bigger turbo. Still has MAF for factory ecu but I do have an Autronic IAT sensor here to be fitted.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    The no crank/sync problem will be because Evo 8's have an additional separate ground wire for those sensors. If the PCB is a C revision (1350-01C) then linking solder link JP41 makes the connection. Alternatively, connect pin 40 (B10) to the sensor ground pin 92 (D22) to make the link externally.

    For the fan and a C revision board you need to swap the solder links an JP31 from 1-2 to 1-3 and 2-4.
