    Hello everybody,

    I am trying to setup Alfa V6 24v engine with SMC 1.92, CDI and bike coils and 60-2 wheel. I am using the original inductive crank and cam sensors + reluctor interface and high speed mod. I managed to get the engine idling smoothly with cyl pulse offset of around 80 (although I counted 15 teeth) and MF15=11. Anything above those values and I get intermittent error 3:4 and sometimes even 4:3 and sync/cyl values jumping from 0 to over 100%. With MF15=11 sync/cyl stays at around 50-52%. The problem is now the actual timing of the engine I checked with the strobe light is 0 degrees no matter what I put into the main ignition table and also the SMC Ignition Angle Mean is showing constantly 25 degrees. If I change the MF15 or put 90 degrees for cyl pulseo offset I start getting erratic sync/cyl percentages and the intermittent 3:4 error, the IGN angle MEAN showing from 15 to 25 and engine not running smoothly . I feel like I am chasing my tail with the MF15 values and cyl offset and do not understand why the timing is constantly 0 degrees.
    I am lost at the moment. Attached is my cal file.

    Check the crank sensor polarity.

      Just tried reversing the polarity of the crank sensor. It would still read rpm during cranking, but now I get constant 3:4 Sync I/P during cranking, so there is no spark and the engine would not start. I also tried reversing the cam sensor, but still the same, I believe my initial wiring was correct. Other suggestions ?

          Yes, isn't that correct ? I am using the original 60-2 trigger wheel, that is why I have MF13 = 2

                  Can you do a software log with the engine cranking and / or running with the Sync/Cyl, Cyl Pulses and Cyl/Sync parameters included?

                        The rpm trace looks quite erratic. Possibly the cause of unstable sync/cyl%. What parts comprise the ignition system?

                          I am using CDI + Denso bike coils. I have the original Bosch dumb coils from this engine which would be pretty easy to hook up and test ?.
