  • Base fuel table - mapping - fundamental (?) question

This has been bugging me for a while - when estimating the row values (higher loads (say 200 plus / and on boost) in the base fuelling table for any given load row should I expect to gradually increment the fueling as the rpms rise or only to a point - or some other rule of thumb.

I guess the same question would also be valid for any given rpm column as the load increases...

Why would you be estimating? Autotune to block mode and get it done
He gets his lap dogs to do his talking for him. Buzzard is a good example.

Thanks Chris - just being cautious - and I'm road mapping alone - I'm only up to 5.5K rpm at base boost (1.2 bar) but wanted to check that the initial estimations above this are somewhere in the right region.

I've currently only used auto tune at lower loads / rpms (cruise range) - and then logs above this - this is the current iteration:

Not quite sure what autotune block mode is - will have a look at the manual as I don't recall seeing it mentioned - could you explain?

Are the injectors selected in the cal file the actual injectors fitted to the engine?

No unfortunately not - I currently have Tomei 740cc side feeds meant originally for the SR20DET.

Correct injector selection is the foundation of correct fueling. Is it possible for you to refit the OEM injectors and send the Tomei injectors to Autronic for calibration?Reviewing your cal file further I see a three wire idle valve and waste spark ignition selected. Is this a 97/98 WRX?

H-Bridge is the least preferred method of three wire idle valve control. You should be using antiphase (A sfw pwm with two outputs selected, one inverted).

IAC Tuning/IAC Actuator Type is set to linear. This will not work well with a Subaru idle valve. IAC Actuator type should be set to User Defined and a full idle control system calibration performed. This is well outside the scope of this support forum. May I ask where you are located?

Sadly not - I not longer have those around - and yes the car is a '97 JDM WRX Sti.

Ah I was ignorant of that - I'll give that a crack this weekend when I have a little more time to spend on the car.

I did run through the IAC tuning pdf that I likely located somewhere on this forum - however my results were a mixed bag - The IAC-Proportion range calculation ended up being something of a guess as I wasn't getting repeatable results on the fully open rpm (between engine stops / starts) - I wonder if this was related to my H-Bridge setup or the IAC itself. In any case due to the issues I've had in tha past with the IAC sticking I'll be going to a bosch 3 wire version as soon as I've completed the adaptor plate for it - so I may possibly find things change again at that point. I'm based in the UK - Leics.
