  • Desperately needed cal file 00 Impreza

    So here it is. my old tuner is screwing with me and password protected my SM4 I added some other mods and took the car to a more trusted tuner in my Area and he can't tune the car because he doesn't have the password and my old tuner is denying ever putting a password on the map. SO if I can't get a copy of my old map to use as a baseline once the ECU is wiped clean and reset... I need a new baseline map to save me the hundreds of dollars it will cost me to retune the car from scratch.SO if anyone has any ideas on how to either A> Bypass the password or B. help me out with a baseline file or a file thats near what I'm running. here is a link to my Mods list if anyone has anything close it would be greatly appreciated. http://www.ctsubie.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2269

    basically the car is a Axis stage 2 block WRX DOHC heads with a Perrin Fuel rail 800cc Injectors and a Ported and Polished VF39 with Meth injection.

    HELP!!!!!

    For a wire in SM4 I would need to know what inputs and outputs are used.

    Where are you located ?

      the car is in Hartford CT at XXTuning they are the ones trying to Tune it now and are unable to access it

        Are you using the current software to access the ECU? There was one old version of SM4 software which could think an ECU was locked when it wasn't. All you had to do was use a newer version to access the ECU and everything was fixed.

          yeah we checked that and he is running the most current software as he tunes this ECU often. I was able to get the MAPs from the previous tuner to give to the shop that has the car now so as long as they are unaltered I think I might be ok once the ECU is reset we can load the map back in and go from there. Is there any way to bypass the password protection on the ECU though???

            Yeas and no, a dealer can wipe the password but the calibration is lost and you need a new cal file.

              ok so its as bad as I thought. well my old tuner was willing to give me copies of the maps he saved when I brought the car to him so I emailed those to the shop that has the car now and they tell me they are capable of wiping the cal file and password I just hope the file that i was given isn't purposely sabotaged to keep me from being able to get the car tuned. The tuner is gonna look at the cal file before wiping anything so worst case senario I just can't get the car tuned as I definitely can't afford the added cost of retuning the car from scratch. thanks for the info. If I take the ECU out and send it back to Autronic can they do it without wiping the cal file?
