  • Need a start file Bmw M50B28

    Is it anyone how can help me with a start file for my BMW Engine?

    My engine is a 2,8 l
    Comp ratio 8,5:1
    Bosch 0280150842 1680 cc
    Autronic hall sensor on cam and cylinder.
    3 tooth wheel on cylinder sensor
    Bosch cop coil
    Etanol fuel

    Thanks for help.

    I forgott to tell what autronic i have.

    It is SM4 1.09

              Is the timing correct on number 1 cylinder?

                Yes the timing on syl 1 is okay now when i have custom fireing order.

                But that is when i just crank the engine.

                When the engine is started it is very dificult to read the timeing because i cant get the engine to go steady enough

                  Put the ignition output setting on 6cyl ws. Try a lead angle of 420 degrees. Add or subtract in 120 degree increments until the timing on number 1 cylinder is correct.

                  I dont know why people insist on using the Bosch 839/842 injectors when there are supoerior injectors available on the market today.

                      Is it sylinder i/p lead angel you mean?

                      Change from 60 to 420?

                      Should i just crank with starter or try starting

                        Yes cylinder i/p lead. Set the base fuel multiplier to zero and crank the engine. Get the timing set then turn the fuel back on. ID2000 are a much better injector.

                          Then i have change back to 6 ws.

                          Found the timing at 180 degrees.

                          I can't understand why?

                          The timing on the engine is right!

                          Is it my 3 tooth wheel so it's wrong?

                            The SM4 expects to see the sync pulse after the number 1 cylinder pulse. If your lead angle is 180 it means the sync pulse is not after number 1 cylinder, but after another cylinder.
