  • 5V regulator failing

I noticed that I was getting bogus degrading signals from my 5V sensors (TPS, MAP) and it seems to get worse as the car runs. It is an SM4 in a road race car. I swapped the ECU with my new spare and all was good again. Can I get the regulator fixed? any work arounds?

I am in the US, in Virginia.

    thanks,
    Bobby

That might not be the +5v supply, it might be an analogue multiplexer problem. If you unplug one of the sensors when the ECU is showing the errant readings you should be able to measure the +5v supply to confirm if it is correct or not. You can even do that on a 2 wire sensor as the signal wire has a pullup resistor to the +5v supply.
