Hi all,
I'm looking for this information without succes ... I have suzuki gsxr denso coil and I want to use them on my toyota 4age engine with 500r cdi . It has been done before but I don't know if the coil have to ''clip'' over the spark plug or only had to ''sit'' on top of them. The coil I have do not clip on the spark plug ; the end of the plug is too big.

Any modification needed ?
Or the coil just have to be on top of the plug ?
Or I have to change the spark plug model ?

Seem very strange to me because all the gsxr coil are the same and has I know the spark plug end for toyota 4age also ...

denso coil part number ; 129700-4400 J0440 (suzuki gsxr 1000)

Any experience will be very helpful !:o

ok, what I found on the net is I need plugs with removable screw top.

Anyone can confirm ?

Also did I need resistor or non-resistor spark plug with this set up ? (cdi 500r + coil on plug)

Thanks for any help !

Most uses non resistor plugs with CDI. You can search the forum on plugs and you will see many threads on the subject.

No ones talk of the fitment over the spark plug or the type of spark plug used . I continue my quest for the question ! :)

Yes, the coils must clip on to the plugs. So you must use plugs with the connection bushings taken off.

And you answered it yourself in a previous post. ;)

Well,
Spark plug with removeable tip and no resistor are not very common (read inexistant in 7/8/9 heat range)

I see on the net other cars with the same coil on plug and with solid tip spark plug number ; what is the trick ?

Got the answer ! The trick is to modify the spark plug tip on a lathe to the correct size !

Never heard of it before.....

A VERY special thank to Enzo @ Enzo racing .

If you have a turbo engine silver plugs like f3cs from bosch has removebal tip and no resistor, threads are 14x1.5 no problem using these fr at least 225 hp pr cylinder
