Hi just wondering if anyone can help me with a cal file SM2 1.92

Autronic trigger disk in CAS
single coil with MSD 6A
Cam spec 292 Advertised dur 230@50
Autronic boost controller

Does the wires for the CAS need to be sheilded as the are currently not?

How did you go with getting a cal file for your RB30 Justin?
I have a VL Turbo and have just ordered an SMC for it from a tuner that is setting it up for me.

HI, I do have a couple of files though un sure if the ignition set up settings are correct.
Had a incorrect trigger disk in the CAS which didnt help.
It would be great if we could exchange CAL files to compare.
What mods have you done to your engine?

Hi Justin,
Internally the engine is stock.
Stock T3, Turbosmart Dual stage boost controller,
Bosch plumb back BOV - I'll put up a pic of it later.
Front mount intercooler, Cold air intake mod,
3 inch zorst, EGT gauge,
Here's my car:

Justin, I have just been given my wiring harness for the SMC and I am waiting on the SMC itself and an ignition module (which I am assuming is a bosch 227 022 008).
Did you use a std VL trigger disk in the CAS? - after you found the faulty/wrong one? Or do I need an Autronic one?
Also do you know which 2 wires in the CAS plug are the cyl pulse trigger i/p and the Ref. trigger i/p? I do know that the std VL engine harness wiring has a white and a yellow colored wire, but I dont know which is which.

You need an Autronic disk. I was supplied a vg30 by mistake. You cant use the standard one. The white wire should be Ref trigger i/p and should be the the first wire on the plug towards the front. This how it needs to wired to suit the disk. Hope that make sense.
Nice car how much power on the dyno?
Autronic will make heaps of difference.

Use the trigger disk for sync signal and put a crank trigger on. Will run better and potentially make more power. What chip version are you using?

Justin, how do you tell the difference between the Autronic RB30 and VG30 discs (just so when I get it I can avoid the same problem)? Thanks for the ref trigger info.
Last dyno run was dec 2007 and it made 205rwkw on 14psi but was running really badly, was running too much fuel... to the point of chocking itself at times... It was running a fuel/air ratio of 12:1 on idle and would go to 10:1 on full load...

Are they easy to fit? and do you know how much they are? I'll look at doing that if I have any drama's...
Not sure of the chip ver as I am waiting for the delivery of the computer... any day now...

Compare the diameter of the old standard disc to the new disc.
They need to be the same diameter.
From memory the VG30 disc is slightly larger in diameter.
Put the discs on top of each other to check the diameter,
also align the cyl pulse and sync slots on both discs and check that they are physically in the same area of the disc.
Autronic disc will have 6 evenly spaced cyl pulse slots on the outer circumference and 1 sync slot on the inner edge.
The standard disc will have 6 slots and 360 1 degree slots.

What mods have you done to your engine?
Can you post the CAL files you have so that we can check them.
I have RB30 CAL files but not for SM2 1.92, but not hard to convert.
Let us see what you have and make the changes and suggestions from that.

I have had a quick look at your CAL file.
Will have another look later when i have more time.
I have 1 question though,
In OLD MODE 0, you have selected 16 as your setting.
If you are using Manifolod Absolute as your input for base fuel delivery Old Mode should be set to 0.
I checked my mode setting reference and can not figure why Mode 0 would be set to 16.
Even if you add all of the options it still only comes to a value of 15.
Also your Ign mod 1 TABLE AT 100% Load and 125 deg c is set to -25 deg.
If you reached these temps and drove the car at that value you would have almost no advance, looking at your Base timing table 100% load value.
Your timing would be to retarded and this would add to your overheating issues.

It is set to 16 to enable the open lopp (target) AFR table. It should be set to 16.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Chris.
I had another look at the SM2 1.92 software and still cant see the Allow open loop as a selection, even if i press F1 help file, it says nothing.
Where is this information found, for future reference for me.
Thanks
Dave.

Your ignition settings are correct.
Your cal file should get you going and looks to be a stable platform for you to tune from.
Have fun.

That's a fairly healthy number 400 plus at the wheels.
I didnt realise the engine was running.
I thought you still had to have it tuned.
You asked for help with your cal file, im a little confused.
By the way, what turbo are you using.

Justin, is the right side of your dyno sheet the boost pressure numbers? So did I reat that right, at 14psi your getting 350Hp?
If so, as a comparison, my engine (before the SMC) was running way too rich and only made 205kw (275hp) on 14psi. So I'm very keen to see what my car will make on 14psi.

Have a look at a SMC 1.18 mode flag sheet. Its in the help menu. However in a SMC 1.92 it is selected in M1/AF Control/Open loop table

If you press F1 in "Old Mode 0..15" it is listed under 1.92. It is just missing in the "Help" > Modes

Yes thats right the boost pressure is on the right...
I have the boost controller set to a switch inside the car amazing how easy to set up.
Anyone have any thoughts on the graph???

...Anyone have any thoughts on the graph???
It's a blurry picture? :D
And the power graphs seem to fold rapidly about 5400 rpm without the trend being visible in the torque graphs.
