Helllo all,

Anyone know what pin out 11 is? "POWER SEL"

Ok I found this on another post.


11 = Power select. Open=Low power; Short to ground=High power.


Can someone explain that a little more for me. I take it low power is the usual setting? What do they mean by 'open'?

Turbo charged E30 M3 running 4 x bosch coils.

By open they mean the pin is not shorted to ground. You could use a switchable input on the SM4 to enable high power mode under certain conditions, or just run it to a switch in the cab that then runs to a ground point on the chassis etc.

Yes, low power is the default.

No, it the the CDI that has the switch input.

But you can use an SM2 output to switch the CDI power switch input. It is maybe easiest to use the User defined On/Off function set to the Relay 2 output as this output is the correct polarity for the CDI input.
