Hello ,
Since I use a SMC + cdi 500r I want to know if the J&S safeguard is a good buy . I want to be safer in case of problem since I will use direct port water injection. I think it allow more aggresive timming also .
Any comments will be appreciated .

I have not used one, gut think it would be worth a try. You would need to ask John Pizzuto what the time delay thru the box is.

It would be worthwhile testing it against knock headphones when you first install it to make sure it is using the correct sensor for your motor. If you are using the wrong sensor sometimes it will not pickup light detonation from what I've read.
Other than that I don't think anyone here will have anything much to say about it as it doesn't really have anything to do with the ecu.

I would think that John would supply the sensor and box.

The Interceptor version is calibrated for a Bosch or other "donut" style non-resonant knock sensor. If none is present we can supply the sensor kit.
Inputs for two sensors are provided.
I have attached a portion of the schematic showing the I/O.
Pull select switches are provided so you can select pull up, pull down or no pull resistors. The pull resistor value is 1k.
A user mode switch selects rising edge or falling edge triggering.
The input resistors are 1k, the filter caps are 0.01uF. The delay through the Altera device is clocked at 4MHz, delay is negligible.
The unit retards by extending the dwell pulse. The leading edge is unchanged.
The output drivers are FDS4559.
