Hi everyone,
My first post and I must say this forum is very informative and has some very clever people giving input to problems posted here. Here is my question. I have an Escort Mk1 powered by a EFI Supercharged 2.0l Pinto. I am using the Delco ECU, sensors and wiring loom from an Australian 2.0l JE Camira. I am upgrading to a SM4 that I purchased new in April of this year. What I would like to know is can the SM4 connect to my engine without adding a crankshaft or camshaft sensor and just use the distributor that the Delco ECU uses. I know that I can not have sequential injection and the timing is not as stable but the Delco has done ok for me. The engine only makes 170hp at the wheels and uses a maximum of 11psi boost. If it can be connected as it already is great and I will add a crankshaft sensor when next I have the engine out. There isn't a lot of room around the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft will also be awkward. The attachment has the wiring diagram that I am using. I do use a MSD digital sci plus for my ignition. I hope someone has positive input to help me. Thank you.

Sure can, the Delco EST interface, does that pull low for EST? In any case it is a workable deal.

Hi Chris,
I'm not sure what you mean by EST interface. I'm a mechanic but some of the abbreviations I don't know. Any chance you could help with the wiring hook up I know it's a lot to ask but getting it right first time makes for much less frustration, just new to connecting after market efi systems. I did all the conversion to efi Delco myself just not the tuning. Thank you.

If you are using a Delco distributor, or coil packs you have EST ( Electronic Spark Timing). The SM4 can be set to run group fire or batch fire for that setup.
