I have an SM2 v1.93 ECU, and a looooong time ago Ray Hall explained how to decode the serial numbers! My serial number is L1362T2A4
From what I recall it's an older model SM2 that has low impedence injector drivers and a 4 bar map sensor? Is/Was that correct?

T2A4 is the relevant part of the number.
T2 means the MAP sensor will read to 440 kpa absolute pressure
T1 means the MAP sensor is high accuracy (for TPS/Baro tuning) but can only read to about 1 bar of boost.
A4 means the injector drivers are 4 amp.
A2 means the injector drivers are 2 amp.
If you can see a row of 8 screws fitted in the side of the case (the screw heads are inside the ECU) then the ECU has Peak and Hold injector drivers and the drive current is fixed.
If the row of internal screws is not fitted then the ECU has the newer style switching drivers. SM2 and SMC ECUs fitted with these drivers have a link inside the ECU to change the drive current.

Sorry for hijacking this thread. I also have a serial number related question.
If you don't have the original purchase invoice where can you look for the serial number?
I have gone online with the ECU (sm2 v1.93) but can't find the number. I have also opened the ECU cover and this is the only number I find on the board - sm2/3 1067 - 01F which I think has nothing to do with the serial number.

SM2 ECUs have the serial number on the case on the same edge as the connector. Most have the number below the connector, some have the number to one side of the connector. You can't read it with the software like an SM4.
