Hey guys, I have a friend that has a Mr2 with all the goodies (Built motor, T66, etc, etc, and a SM2) On low boost (18#) the car runs fine, but on high boost (24#) it's like the car shuts down, the coolant temp sensor resets, etc.

Any ideas on what this might be, or what would cause it? Is there a built in "safety" function in this software/equipment?

Neither of us has any experience with the system (:D), we are going to hook a laptop to it this weekend and see what we can see. Time to learn some new things.

Any help, experience would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

Has the car run fine earlier? There are many things that could be wrong. First check out with the laptop if there are any errors (or read the fault diode). In boost tune you have over boost margin, check this out. If set to low (in boost table) the ecu will shut on high boost. you may also have a misfire on high boost due to week ignition or wrong fuel.

Maybe with the cooler weather or something screwy with the wastegate it is exceeding the variable in the boost tune.

Will try to get a computer hooked to the car and try it out.

The car ran fine before this, and yesterday it actually did fine too.

Thanks for the help, will let you know what I find out.

Post up your CAL file, it may just be hitting boost cut. What are you using for boost control?
