Hi guys ,
I want to ask you a question about my 2.0 built on Audi AEB block with ABA crank.
We bored the block to 83.01mm and set the wall clearance to 0.10mm.
We have done the nessesary modifications on the block and IM shaft too.
When we assambled the pistons and rods ,we saw that the pistons are higher than the block deck.
I am not sure about the unit but it should be 10/1000mm higher on the gauage, .. see picture ....Is this normal ?

Gauage indicates at 10

What thickness of the head gasket? You need at least 1.2-1.3 mm clearance.

Thanks for the reply ,I went to the machine shop again and measured the oem gasket ..it is 1.2mm thick. my mechanic corrected me today so no worries anymore. It turns out that the piston is 0.1mm pop-up from block so with 1.2mm gasket it shouldn't be problem.
