The plan was to use a dis-4 box and the stock cop on the sr20det engine ( the ones without ignitior)
But since one of the outputs on the dis-4 box is dead, my plan was to set this up as a wasted spark system, so i only need 2 of the outputs on the dis-4 box.

is there any reason why this won`t work ok even if i use 4x single coils and not 2 dubble coils.

I have never used MSD DIS-4.
However, what you are suggesting to do should work.
Pair off coils
1 & 3
4 & 2.
What ecu are you using.
Remember if it is an SMC or SM2 to use IGN O/P 4 for coils 1 & 3
and IGN O/P 1 for coils 4 & 2.
SM4 IGN O/P 1 for coils 1 & 3
and IGN O/P 2 for coils 4 & 2.

Well, i know that i have to pair them up, but my thought was that by pairing up 2 seperate coils the current will be to high for the dis-4 box.

2x single coils= 2x the current compared to using 1 dubble ended coils witch have one coil shared)

Will work fine, some say it is better to use separate coils rather than double ended since it can make engine better cylinder balance. Most of the spark will go the easiest way on a double ended coil, the cylinder without cylinder pressure will have most spark!
