Hi Guys,
I am working on a AEB Audi A4 so I try to prepare '' How to connect Cam And Crank Sensor to SM2. I really don't know if it's correct but pro.'s may chime in and correct if I am wrong.

Robert you may want to put this to download page if It's correct.

Boosted, very nice diagram.
It would be helpful if someone knows what pin numbers these connect to on the factory sensors (i.e. the red wire from the reluctor interface = pin 1 in connector...I don't know if this correct, it's just an example).
I believe both sensors are 3 pin, so one of the pins in the cyl. pulse connector is a shield...right?:o

the crank sensor might be wrong. They changed the colors and the pinout several times. All of the wiring I have see the black wire is the shield, therefore un used. Your + and - at the crank sensor connector are either 1 and 2 , or 3 and 2. Use a mulltimeter and measure the Ohms between pins 1-2 and 3-2 , one way will give you ~600-900 ohms and those are your trigger wires. The other way will giv e you open circuit and that means you have the shiels which is unused.

Thanks Kevin for valueble information but the reluctor interface connection is correct ,right ?? One more question ,Do you know how can I find the pins at the cam sensor? I am still working on the drawing ,I will finalaze soon :)

What is the Bosch number on your standard ECU?
I may be working on a similar now right now.

ECU number is not the same. Wiring should be similar though.
According to my manual,
crank sensor 3 wire plug
1 = positive, 2 = negative, 3= shield
Cam sensor 3 wire plug
1 = positive, 2= signal, 3 = sensor ground
Std ECU pinout
Pin 11 - cam sensor postive (green/violet)
Pin 76 - Cams sensor signal (green/grey)
Pin 67 - cam sensor negative (green/white)
Pin 56 - crank sensor positive (green)
Pin 63 - crank sensor negative (blue)

Does anyone know if the sensors are -ve or +ve?

What exactly do you mean?

For an SMC/SM2 ecu you select +ve for the cam sensor and the crank sensor (+ve for the crank sensor because that is the setting used for a reluctor interface)
For an SM4 ecu you select Rising (+ve) for the cam sensor, and Falling (-ve) for the crank sensor(because you are using the SM4 internal reluctor interface)
Mode flag 14 (Divider factor) = 30
Mode flag 15 (Divider offset) = 27
Cylinder Offset (Cylinder I/P Lead) 77 degrees

Kevin,
Thank you...that is what I meant. :)
And the setup for all the ECUs (Rising, Falling, Mode flags, Offset, etc.), very nice! :D

Hi Kevin,
I selected ve+ for both sensors but my divider offset is differante in my map.I was told Mode flag 15 (Divider offset) should be 24 on most Audi's so should I change it to 27 ?
Here is my mode flags ;
Mode6 :140
Mode13 :129
Mode14 :30
Mode15 :24

Someone have splitted crank trigger signal for Autronic and stock ecu same time in order to get tacho work on canbus VAG 1.8 cars? Does it work or is it necessary to make separate crank triggers for both ecus?

I have shared crank signal on a Volvo 5-cyl dual Vanos Turbo engine without problem. It has inductive crank sensor and use Bosch ME7. If I had the +Ve & -Ve wires wrong the car would not start.
