I am using the Bosch 3 wire idle valve with a SMC (ver1.99) and have a quick question about the wiring. On the SMC, pin 26 is the +12v aux o/p supply (pink/yel) and pin 12 is aux o/p (gry). Which SMC pin connects to Bosch pin A and which to pin C on the attached drawing? Thanks :)

Normally whne using the three wire Bosch you have one output inverted, so A & C is the same but one inverted. Then the two signals balance the valve. This can not be done with the SMC. I think there is a way of doing it different but have no info here doing so.

You can use a large wattage(5-10W) resistor between the closed side of the valve and ground so when the ignition is turned on the natural position is closed. Then the ecu only has to open the vale with the other wire. Around 25ohms suits the subaru 3 wire valve.

Thanks for the replies. I will mess around with it and figure something out.
